After months of gruelling Championship action, the time has come for the 24 second-tier clubs to make some permanent transfers once more.

During the period of January, teams may conduct business which could have a huge say in the promotion race and survival battle come the end of the season.

Swansea have suffered a particularly poor 2025/26 campaign thus far, which has already seen them make a managerial switch. After a tough string of results, the Welsh outfit parted ways with Alan Sheehan in November, opting to replace him with Vitor Matos.

Since then their form has improved, with the Swans now sitting 17th in the Championship after 26 matches, eight points clear of the relegation zone. As they aim to push further up the table during the second period of the campaign, Swansea are reportedly looking to add some reinforcements to their attacking ranks.

Swansea have recently been linked with a move for Crystal Palace forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who has spent the first half of this season on loan with Turkish outfit Rizespor.

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, both the Swans and Coventry City have made an enquiry to Palace about a potential loan deal for the 23-year-old.

With this in mind, Football League World have taken a look at how the forward’s current wage with the Eagles compares to the Swansea City squad.

According to Capology, Rak-Sakyi currently earns an estimated £10,530 a week, which equates to £547,564 over the space of 12 months.

When compared to the Swansea squad, this wage would make him one their higher-paid players, earning more than the likes of Ethan Galbraith, Ronald and Goncalo Franco.

However, there are still nine players in the Welsh outfit’s fold who supposedly earn more, with the likes of Cameron Burgess and Lawrence Vigouroux taking home a substantially larger amount.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi would be a decent acquistion by Swansea City

In what has been a largely uninspiring season for Swansea, adding Rak-Sakyi to their ranks during the January window would no doubt provide fans with a boost.

The 23-year-old showed signs of real promise while on loan with Sheffield United last term, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 35 second-tier matches.

He has improved on this form during his time in Turkey this term, striking four times in 11 Süper Lig outings. The winger's previous EFL loan spell at Charlton Athletic was even more memorable, as he plundered home 15 strikes and a further nine assists across all competitions in his first-ever campaign of senior football.

Rak-Sakyi has bags of potential and if utilised correctly, could be a really strong asset for Swansea throughout the second half of the campaign, with Matos' side having struggled for a real consistent injection of quality from wide areas.
