Jhohan Romaña has confirmed he will remain at San Lorenzo this window, ending days of uncertainty amid firm interest from River Plate and enquiries from abroad. The 27-year-old Colombian centre-back said his situation is now resolved.

"I am fine now, but you know what I went through in these days. I never wanted to leave San Lorenzo and many things were said that affected my family," he told TyC Sports.

He had already signalled his continuity before the 1-0 win over Gimnasia de Mendoza, then after the match he referenced the internal dispute over his contract. He said people had spoken badly of him to look good with others, which drew a sharp response from board member Ulises Morales, who called him a bad person and accused him of making a circus on the pitch.

Romaña stressed he never pushed for an exit despite major proposals. "I had very big offers that would have changed life for me and my family. I stayed and I want to keep fighting," he said.

He was tracked by clubs in Brazil and the United States and received two formal bids from River in the last window, the latter worth $2,500,000 for 50 percent of his rights, which San Lorenzo rejected.

Romaña has made 85 appearances for the club, scoring once. "I have principles, I am a man of my word and I am here fronting up," he said.
