Having clinched the La Liga title on Sunday after beating Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou, FC Barcelona are celebrating their success with an open-top bus title parade in the streets of the city, filled with thousands of fans.
For some members of the squad, it was already familiar territory after celebrating titles last year. But for summer signing Joan Garcia, it was a completely new experience.
Talking to the club media during the parade, Garcia shared his joy at being able to celebrate the title with the fans.
“It’s really cool. I came to see what it would be like, and I’d been told it was great. I’m having a fantastic time. It’s incredible,” said Garcia, who is on track to win the Zamora Trophy.
“People are shouting all the time, running around, and throwing things for us to sign. It’s been great fun. We’ve got plenty of time left. I’m sure it won’t be the last time,” the goalkeeper added.
Meanwhile, Pau Cubarsi, who already knew what it felt like to celebrate on a champions’ parade also expressed his joy at the event.
This was his second as a Barcelona first-team player, although he admitted he had never attended one as a supporter.
“I’m really enjoying being with all the people who have come to see us. We’re very happy. Let’s all enjoy it like one big family,” he commented.
“At the beginning of the season, it’s a bit difficult to get going, but we’ve had two great seasons. The fans are behind us, and the supporters connect very well with each other. We’re a team that’s very eager to do great things for this club,” he acknowledged.

Frenkie de Jong, one of the captains and more experienced players in the squad when it comes to title celebrations, also highlighted the bond between the team and supporters.
“The connection with the fans is great; it’s very special to share this with them,” he stated.
“We have young players who give their all for the team, and I think we transmit that to the fans with the connection we have. They give us a lot of energy. They have a lot of quality, and that’s why we’re winning things. This team is very hungry,” De Jong added.
Setting his sights on European success, like Lamine Yamal, the Dutchman remarked: “There are many things we want to win, especially the Champions League, and we’re going to give everything we have to achieve it.”
Marc Bernal, who was a part of the title-winning team last season as well, despite playing only three games due to an ACL injury, admitted he enjoyed this season’s triumph more.
“This year I’ve enjoyed it more because I feel more important. We’re all a tight-knit group here, and we’re going to have a great time,” he stated.
