With English football paused for the international break, João Gomes, the former Flamengo midfielder, shared a reading list on social media that quickly went viral on X, according to Coluna Do Fla.

He highlighted titles including Análise da Inteligência de Cristo, Transformando Suor em Ouro, Na Raça, Armas da Persuasão, Essencialismo and O Alquimista. The post was widely shared, often as a meme.

In recent months he has appeared online frequently, backing Flamengo, chatting with followers and offering life advice with catchphrases.

Wolverhampton, his club, are practically relegated to the second tier in England. Even so, he should remain in Europe’s leading leagues due to his good form this season.

Manchester United have long held an interest in João Gomes. Napoli and Atlético de Madrid are also interested in the Flamengo academy graduate.
