Amid the presidential race at Real Madrid, doubts began to emerge about the futures of two of Paris Saint-Germain’s most important players: João Neves (21) and Vitinha (26). However, it is Fabrizio Romano’s understanding that neither will depart this summer.

Neves and Vitinha have become key players for PSG. The former is utilised largely in the UEFA Champions League (14 matches, two goals, three assists) but is often rested in Ligue 1. Vitinha, meanwhile, is an ever-present in all competitions. As well as playing 17 times in the Champions League last season (six goals, one assist), he made 50 appearances overall in all competitions.

Both are essential cogs in Luis Enrique’s system at the Parc des Princes. Consequently, both are considered “untouchable” by PSG, as per Romano. Should Real Madrid show interest in the pair following the re-election of Florentino Perez, Les Parisiens, who retained their European crown last month, would not respond favourably.
