The night started brightly as the 21 year old was given a rare start and he did score a goal despite his side’s defeat, however.

In the 89th minute, the Durham-born forward latched onto a poor pass and drove at the home side’s defence to go one-on-one with the keeper.

He took a few touches and decisively slotted the ball into the bottom right hand corner in what was a terrific finish. It was his first goal since the 1st of February when he scored against Swindon Town.

Sadly, the rest of his night was not so impressive as he failed to win any of his five ground duels or seven aerial battles.

The striker also only completed 40% of his passes on a wasteful night in possession.

Rhys Bennett’s night was a lot more comfortable as his Fleetwood Town side ran out 4-1 winners away to Accrington Stanley.

The Youth Cup winner made 12 clearances in the match and a total of two tackles.

He also won 100% of his ground duels and was colossal in the air, winning seven out of his ten contested aerial battles.

The youngster had 69 touches of the ball and completed 73% of his passes as he was heavily involved in possession for the away side.

Bennett also had a shot blocked as he almost added to his senior goal tally in a dominant display by the visitors.

Finally, Ethan Williams played the final 12 minutes of Cheltenham’s 2-0 defeat to Morecambe.

He had one shot off target and completed his only dribble attempt.

Williams also completed all four of his passes and won his only ground duel. He could not force a save from the Morecambe keeper as his team fell to a disappointing defeat.
