Foot Mercato understands that  Joël Ordoñez (21) has skipped Club Brugge’s training session on Monday in a bid to force through a move to Olympique de Marseille.

Whilst OM have already signed CJ Egan-Riley and Facundo Medina this summer, the club are looking to bring in another centre-back. A move for Ordoñez has been considered throughout the window, however, their chances of signing the Ecuadorian were recently dealt a blow.

As per Sacha Tavolieri, Marseille met Club Brugge’s asking price of €25m plus an additional €5m in add-ons. However, the Belgian side then opted against selling the centre-back. Ordoñez has been left infuriated by the decision and has now taken the drastic decision to miss training in order to force his move to the Vélodrome.

In recent hours, Club Brugge have begun to sound out potential replacements for the defender in what will be perceived as a good sign at Marseille.
