Patrick Agyemang and Lars Jorgen-Salvesen are soon to be returning to action for Derby County

With the Championship season now in full swing, three gameweeks down, the Rams have got off to a rather slow start to their 2025/26 campaign without a league win under their belt as of yet.

However, a key cause of their below-par form is due to their tough luck with injuries, which have become a common theme for the Rams.

Derby boss John Eustace has had to deal with an ever-changing starting XI with six players currently sidelined, but looks to get back on track with a trip to face Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.

As for the injury list, Curtis Nelson and Corey Blackett-Taylor are a while away from a return, but Owen Beck, Kane Wilson, and Sondre Langas should be back in action in the next few weeks - along with two forwards.

The injury crisis at Pride Park has been severe, with John Eustace not yet able to field what you'd expect to be his strongest starting 11 - pending any other potential signings like Max Johnston.

And they are set to welcome back two other faces to the fold after the international break, with Eustace confirming ahead of this weekend's trip to Ipswich Town that both Patrick Agyemang and Lars-Jorgen Salvesen are back in training, and pending no setbacks, they will be available in September.

"Patrick and Lars trained with us on Monday. That was their first day back," Rams boss Eustace told Derbyshire Live.

"They'll have the international break now to try to get up to speed with things, so it was a massive bonus to get them back in."

Salvesen played just eight Championship matches last season following his move from Viking before being ruled out for the rest of 2024-25 with a knee injury, whilst £5.8 million summer signing Agyemang underwent hernia surgery in July upon his arrival.

John Eustace will surely welcome Patrick Agyemang and Lars-Jorgen Salvesen's availabilty for Derby County with open arms

Derby's forward line has experienced much change so far this season, with Eustace not yet fielding a consistent front two or three.

His experimental nature with formations, tactics, and personnel has meant that Derby County are yet to find a rhythm in the final third.

One man, however, who has remained a constant is their star signing, Carlton Morris. After joining from the relegated Luton Town in the summer, Morris has certainly hit the ground running in his new colours.

With Agyemang and Salvesen soon to be returning to the fray, potential partnerships as well as competition for places will surely provide Eustace with an array of attacking options that can help kickstart their season.
