Celtic secured three points in impressive fashion with a resounding 4-0 victory over Falkirk under the Celtic Park lights tonight.
From the first whistle, the Hoops played with intent and created numerous chances, two of which were tucked away in the first half by Johnny Kenny.
The Irishman could have had a third early in the second half, but his miss wasn’t to prove costly as Sebastian Tounekti and Benjamin Nygren went on to add their names to the scoresheet, with Tounekti grabbing his first Celtic Park goal.
Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, both players reflected on the importance of tonight’s victory as they looked ahead to the upcoming tests for the Celts.
“It’s a great win, we needed it,” Johnny Kenny said. “It’s been a tough few days and we needed to go out tonight, show a reaction and put in a performance and I think we done that.
“The goals were important for me and they’ll help me grow now. I missed a great chance to get a hat-trick, but that’s football. Hopefully there’s more to come in the next few weeks.”
Sebastian Tounekti added: “It's my first goal at Celtic Park. I’ve been waiting for that, and it was special. The most important thing was the win today though.
“We were really good today so hopefully we can keep moving now because we have so many important games coming up.”
