Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future at Wolves remains uncertain, with a departure looking likely within the next year. Whether he stays beyond January is still unclear.
According to Molineux.news, there is sustained interest in the Norwegian despite a misfiring league campaign. West Ham and Crystal Palace have explored a move, but Wolves’ £40 million valuation has seen both baulk, and Nottingham Forest have been tipped as a possible destination.
As rumours intensify, head coach Rob Edwards has praised the striker’s attitude behind the scenes. Speaking before West Ham, he said Larsen is working extremely hard and that he is not concerned by speculation, which he regards as inevitable around good players.
On the pitch, Larsen’s standout display came at West Ham in the Carabao Cup, when he came off the bench to score twice in a comeback win. Since then he has managed only one further goal, a penalty against Burnley.
With the forward short of his best, Wolves could look to cash in, and the club have already done their due diligence in identifying potential replacements. Any decision may hinge on offers meeting that price.
Wolves want to keep their best players, and while Larsen is viewed in that bracket, his form this season has not matched it. It has been an awful campaign and he may be a victim of the wider struggles, having shown a high level last season. With Championship football more than likely, maximising a fee for a summer rebuild may be the pragmatic call.
