Jorginho has suffered a left calf muscle injury and will miss Flamengo's Libertadores opener. He felt pain after the win over Santos and underwent tests on Monday at Ninho do Urubu. According to Globo.com, an MRI confirmed the injury.

He played the full 90 minutes and scored from the spot to put Flamengo ahead in the 10th round at the Maracanã. Flamengo face Cusco on Wednesday at altitude, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time. Beyond the opener, he should miss at least Fluminense, Independiente Medellín and Bahia.

The number 21 has started every match since Leonardo Jardim took charge. He was only taken off against Botafogo and Remo to limit workload in games with wide scorelines.

Flamengo must also contend with at least four other absentees. Pulgar has an acromioclavicular injury in his right shoulder and is in treatment, with an initial outlook of about 10 days depending on pain.

Everton Cebolinha, injured against Bragantino, had scans that showed a fractured rib. The usual timeline is around three weeks out, although it depends on how the area consolidates.

Alex Sandro had been lined up to return for the opener but still needs time to recover from a right hamstring issue. He is working on the pitch with the physios and could yet feature in Saturday's Fla-Flu.

Saúl is progressing after surgery on his left heel. He is doing on-field work and conditioning with the physios, and the expectation is he begins reintegration in the first half of April.
