José Mourinho names five players Benfica badly miss | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica head coach José Mourinho has lamented the fitness problems affecting Alexander Bah, Dodi Lukebakio, Manu Silva, Bruma and Richard Ríos.

He said that with Bah, Lukebakio, Manu Silva and Bruma at 100%, and with Richard Ríos available, the squad would be richer, with more options, and better aligned to Benfica’s demands. Mourinho also addressed Rafa’s return.

He acknowledged the absences have limited the team in recent weeks, calling it unfortunate. He stressed that with everyone available the squad would obviously be much stronger than the one currently competing.

Benfica are third in the Primeira Liga, 10 points behind leaders Porto. They have been knocked out of the Taça da Liga in the semi-finals and the Taça de Portugal in the quarter-finals, and their Champions League campaign is in a difficult spot.

The encarnados host Estrela da Amadora on Sunday, 25 January, in the 19th round of the Liga Portugal Betclic. Kick-off is at 18:00 at Estádio da Luz against João Nuno’s side.
