José Mourinho was seen in Berlin on Saturday 23 May, shortly before Bayern Munich faced Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final. His Benfica exit has not been confirmed.

He was witnessed in the capital with a Gestifute representative. Spanish media suggested the trip was preparatory work for a potential move to Real Madrid, which is on hold due to elections at the club.

Images of the coach in Berlin circulated online ahead of kick-off. Sky Sport said he was there to watch Michael Olise of Bayern Munich to assess a possible investment.

The same outlet reported Real Madrid interest in the France international and that a bid in the region of 160 to 200 million euros could be made to Bayern Munich.

Asked about Mourinho’s presence at the game, which Bayern won, Uli Hoeness responded with irony. He said he hoped not to see him, that the coach could watch the player but would not get him, and that the trip could have been avoided.
