With Porto closing in on the title, José Mourinho has set uncompromising standards for Benfica’s run-in as they chase Champions League qualification and second place.

Record writes that the 63-year-old has told his squad there is no room to drop points, demanding total focus over the final three league games.

After a dramatic turnaround, Benfica have gone from relying on others to controlling their bid to finish second.

The draw with Casa Pia in Rio Maior remains fresh in Mourinho’s mind, and he has used it to remind players that such results can instantly jeopardise a target.

Benfica face two difficult away trips and a testing home date. A rival’s draw in Vila das Aves offered some breathing space, yet there is no scope to relax at this stage.

The first test is a visit to Famalicão, who are also pushing for Europe. They were the last side to take points off Porto, drawing at the Dragão. Mourinho does not want to let the Champions League out of sight.
