Record reports that the Portuguese Football Federation's Disciplinary Board has rejected Benfica's appeal, so José Mourinho will miss the trip to Arouca.
Benfica had lodged an appeal in recent hours, which was reviewed by the disciplinary body. The ruling keeps a one-match ban in place for the 26th round fixture.
In its dispatch, the board said disciplinary consequences recorded by the referee team or the league delegate must take immediate effect in the next match, as with the Benfica coach's dismissal.
It added that if such measures were all subject to appeals, punishments would always be suspended and would not have the immediate impact intended.
Mourinho is barred from the dugout for the game in Arouca. Assistant João Tralhão will lead Benfica from the touchline.
Kick-off is at 20:30 on Saturday, 14 March, in Liga Portugal Betclic.
