RC Lens president-owner Joseph Oughourlian responded with irony on social media after the LFP approved postponement of Lens v PSG against his club’s wishes.
The LFP board unanimously pushed back the match, originally set for 11 April, to ease PSG’s schedule around their Champions League quarter-final with Liverpool, first leg eight April, second leg 14 April. According to L'Équipe, Oughourlian addressed the meeting by video but the decision stood.
He declined to comment when contacted, instead posting on LinkedIn and citing Jean de La Fontaine to imply that might makes right.
Oughourlian is in open conflict with PSG president Nasser al-Khelaïfi, and he also opposes LFP president Vincent Labrune.
With the postponement, Lens now face a two-week gap without competitive action before a congested run of fixtures.
