According to Daily Echo, Norwich City will be without Josh Sargent against Saints, with Philippe Clement confirming the forward is ruled out under concussion protocol.
The USA international sustained a concussion and was substituted in the first half of Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Sheffield United.
Saints head coach Tonda Eckert had planned for the possibility Sargent played. He is now waiting to learn whether Mathias Kvistgaarden will be available. The Danish striker, who scored three times in November, could lead the line for Norwich but remains touch and go with a knee issue.
Scottish midfielder Kenny McLean is another doubt for the hosts ahead of Saturday's 12:30pm kick-off at Carrow Road.
Clement said Sargent felt very unwell in the two days after the incident and, although he is improving, he will not be able to play. He added that McLean remains doubtful, though moving in the right direction, and they will assess him tomorrow.
He stressed there are clear post-concussion timelines that must be followed, a contrast to his playing days. The brain is too important to risk, he said, so the club will apply the rules strictly.
