Just as FC Barcelona seemed to have welcomed some positive news on the injury front, with Raphinha’s return to training, they have been dealt a fresh setback.
As the Blaugrana get set to take on Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, they have been handed a major blow.
Indeed, according to AS, Ferran Torres will not travel with the team to Czechia for Wednesday’s match against Slavia Prague.
The Barcelona forward finished the game against Real Sociedad with discomfort in his hamstrings and will therefore miss the Champions League fixture.
He joins Lamine Yamal on the list of absentees for Barcelona, with the youngster unavailable on Wednesday due to suspension.
At this stage, the injury is considered minor, and Ferran has not been ruled out for Sunday’s LaLiga match against Real Oviedo, although his availability will depend on how he progresses over the coming days.

It is not the first time the Spain international has suffered hamstring issues this season. In mid-October, he spent several weeks sidelined due to an overload that ultimately proved more serious than initially expected.
Ferran has been in fine form this season, taking over as the first-choice striker for the team ahead of Robert Lewandowski. In 27 games this term, he has netted 15 goals and set up one more.
His absence, thus, will come as a significant blow for Hansi Flick, who will have to lean on an unfamiliar attacking trio against Slavia Prague.
Robert Lewandowski is set to lead the line as centre-forward, with Roony Bardghji on the right flank and a now fully recovered Raphinha on the left.
Dani Olmo and Marcus Rashford are the alternative options available for the attacking line.
