Justin Kluivert, who arrived at Roma in 2018, failed to establish himself as he would have liked with the Giallorossi, but today, with Bournemouth, he’s finding his calling.

In a lengthy interview with Cronache di Spogliatoio, the Dutch striker reminisced about his time in the capital, speaking about his teammates and the moments he shared.

Kluivert spoke fondly of some of his former teammates, starting with Daniele De Rossi, whom he considers a special figure in football: “De Rossi is a special guy, a rarity in football. I still have his shirt at home.”

His experience at Roma was also enriched by his bond with two other team leaders: Edin Džeko and Aleksandar Kolarov. “The other two players I bonded with at Roma are Džeko and Kolarov, two true captains,” he said.

Speaking about Claudio Ranieri, the coach who took over the team during his final years at Roma, Kluivert called the manager a legend. “Sometimes I look at photos from that period on my phone and say, ‘Mamma mia, how small I was,'” he said.

Kluivert admitted he experienced ups and downs during his time at Roma, but also acknowledged that these experiences helped him grow. “I was a child, today I’m a father,” he said.

His experience at Roma, despite the difficulties, allowed him to become the person he is today. Even though he left Roma, Kluivert still follows the team, especially in European competitions.

“I watch Roma often, especially in Europe. I support them and hope they win the Scudetto,” he concluded, demonstrating his continued strong ties to the Giallorossi club.
