Juventus and Napoli could address each other’s needs through a swap involving Danilo and Giacomo Raspadori. However, the deal isn’t easy to arrange since it has a few moving pieces, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.
The Azzurri necessitate a new center-back who’d be ready right away after losing Alessandro Buongiorno. Instead, the Old Lady is in the market for a forward who could deputize or play next to Dusan Vlahovic.
Danilo and Raspadori have vastly different valuations, as the former has only a few months on his contract, but Juventus and Napoli could close the gap by roping in another player, Nicolò Fagioli, who’s unhappy with his minutes and is considering asking out.
The Partenopei demand €20M for their attacker and don’t want to let him go on loan. The Brazilian talisman would rather not be involved in a trade, even though he would accept the destination. Still, the Old Lady would let him go only if they acquired two center-backs, ideally David Hancko and Antonio Silva. It’s not impossible but they aren’t super close yet.
Directors Cristiano Giuntoli and Giovanni Manna were co-workers in Turin last season, but others could nix the negotiation given the rivalry between the two teams.
If pragmatism prevailed, the Old Lady could give their okay after just one addition in the back, provided he’s a stud and versatile, and the price tags of the two Italians shouldn’t be too different. It’d make so much sense that it probably won’t happen.
