The Italian defender went under the knife in France on Thursday morning, and Juventus released an official statement after the operation: “This morning, Federico Gatti underwent selective arthroscopic meniscectomy surgery on the medial meniscus of his right knee,” said the Serie A giants.
“The operation, performed by Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet and Dr Loic Geoffroy, in the presence of the Club’s medical director Dr Luca Stefanini, at the Clinique Sante Atlantique in Nantes, was a complete success and the footballer immediately began his rehabilitation programme.”
According to Gazzetta, Gatti will remain out of action for at least one month, though his exact recovery time will become clearer in the coming weeks based on how he responds to rehabilitation.
