Dusan Vlahovic recently admitted that he finds it easier to play with Serbia than Juventus, leaving the Bianconeri with two main issues to fix, on and off the pitch.

Despite being Juventus’ best scorer this season with nine goals in 16 appearances, Vlahovic has had highs and lows and is struggling with consistency under new coach Thiago Motta.

His latest claims from the Serbia training ground have fueled speculation of a less-than-ideal relationship with the new Juventus boss, but the Bianconeri are dealing with another potential problem given that the striker has less than two years left in his contract at the Allianz Stadium.

It is no secret that the Serie A giants want to extend the Serbian striker’s deal, but they need their star to take a pay cut as Vlahovic’s annual salary has risen to €12m for each of the last two seasons of his contract.

Negotiations between the two parties are on hold, and, as Gazzetta reported, the Bianconeri must consider Vlahovic’s future in the coming months.

Without a contract extension, a sale in the summer transfer window will be inevitable, given that Juventus want to avoid the same issue that led to Federico Chiesa’s sale to Liverpool for a low transfer fee last summer.

The Italian star had less than a year left in his contract at the Allianz Stadium.

According to Gazzetta, Juventus may also consider big-money offers in the January transfer window for Vlahovic as long as they can find a valuable replacement in the middle of the campaign.

Juventus’ next Serie A match is against Milan at San Siro on November 23.
