West Ham United midfielder Soungoutou Magassa is attracting transfer interest in the window following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

The 22-year-old West Ham star endured a difficult season at the East London outfit following a summer switch to England.

But according to Sebastien Denis, that has not discouraged Galatasaray, Eintracht Frankfurt, Juventus, and other clubs from France and England.

West Ham going down to the Championship means they have to sell key players this summer, and Magassa might just be heading out of the London Stadium.

Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo clearly does not trust the France youth international.

He played only 979 minutes of Premier League football this term and found himself behind Freddie Potts, Tomas Soucek, and Mateus Fernandes in the pecking order.

The young defensive midfielder has a bright future, but it may be away from West Ham if any of these suitors can cough up the €15 million required to pick him up.

West Ham should consider taking Dario Essugo on loan

If Magassa does depart, West Ham could do far worse than exploring a loan move for Chelsea’s Dario Essugo.

The Portuguese midfielder endured a frustrating campaign due to injury setbacks, limiting his opportunities to build momentum and stake a claim for a first-team place.

However, whenever he did feature, he showed exactly why he has been regarded as a bright prospect for several years.

Essugo brings attributes that West Ham will need in the second division. He is an outstanding ball-winner, covers huge amounts of ground, and plays with intensity.

His athleticism would be particularly valuable in the Championship, where physicality and relentless pressing often prove decisive over the course of a long season.

A loan deal would also allow the Hammers to replace Magassa without committing significant funds during a period when resources are stretched.

Chelsea would benefit from seeing one of their top prospects play regular senior football, while West Ham would gain a player with enormous upside.

What he needs now is consistency, minutes and trust. West Ham could offer all three, and if they do, they may end up with one of the bargains of the season on their hands.
