Juventus are maintaining their pursuit of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson despite significant complications at Anfield, with the Brazilian understood to have already given his personal approval to a move to Turin, but Liverpool’s internal turbulence making a deal increasingly difficult to engineer.
According to Tuttosport, Alisson remains Juventus’s clear first choice as they look to resolve what was one of the most glaring weaknesses of their 2025/26 campaign.
Michele Di Gregorio’s error-strewn season, conceding frequently from the first shot on target, has convinced the club’s hierarchy that a significant upgrade between the posts is non-negotiable this summer.

The complication lies at Liverpool.
Former head coach Arne Slot had personally committed to sporting director Richard Hughes that he would block Alisson’s exit, concerned about the cumulative loss of dressing room leadership following the expected departures of Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson and Ibrahima Konaté.
Slot reportedly rejected Alisson’s own request to leave as a result. However, Slot’s sudden departure from the club, officially described as a mutual termination but reported in the English press as an unexpected dismissal, has changed the landscape.
Juventus are hoping that Liverpool’s ongoing restructuring leads to a change of stance on Alisson, though the situation remains complex. One possible scenario involves incoming coach Andoni Iraola promoting Georgian stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili to the number one role, which would free Alisson to leave.
Should the Alisson deal prove unworkable, Juventus have identified several alternatives. David de Gea could leave Fiorentina for between €5 and €10 million as the Viola look to reduce their wage bill, while Stuttgart’s Alexander Nubel, whose return to Bayern Munich is expected to lead to an immediate sale given Manuel Neuer’s continued presence, is valued at around €15 million.
The most surprising name to emerge, however, is Emiliano Martinez.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus have registered interest in the Aston Villa and Argentina goalkeeper, whose Champions League and World Cup experience would represent exactly the leadership profile Spalletti has demanded.
The operation is considered economically complex, but the club intend to explore its feasibility with Villa in the coming days. Spurs shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario, a long-standing Spalletti target, also remains in contention.
