Juventus make sensible approach for Liverpool’s Giorgi Mamardashvili | OneFootball

Serie A side Juventus are keen on signing a new goalkeeper this summer, with Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin likely on their way out of the Old Lady.

They have been pursuing a move for Liverpool’s Alisson but that move seems to be posing certain challenges. 

Journalist Gianluigi Longari – via TuttoJuve, has now reported about Juventus’ interest in Reds’ Giorgi Mamardashvili, who has played as a starter in the absence of Alisson in the last few weeks.

While he has shown enough to warrant a spot, Juve are interested in a loan deal and have enquired about the possibility. 

A move for Alisson hasn’t quite taken off despite an agreement over personal terms. Convincing Liverpool has proved difficult, which has led to interest in the Georgia international.

Enquiry makes sense

This stance from Juve makes sense, as there is still uncertainty over whether Mamardashvili has established himself fully at Liverpool or not.

If they do agree to loan him out, it will give Juve an opportunistic move that will fix their issue. Next summer, they will have the chance to sign Alisson for free, as his current deal runs out in 2027. So even if the ex-Valencia man will be a temporary solution, it can lead Juve to a bigger solution.
