Juventus ramped up their efforts to sign Jonathan David after their FIFA Club World Cup elimination, reaching an agreement with his entourage concerning the commissions and the bonuses, which were holding up his arrival. He’ll be in Italy for the medicals soon, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the parties concurred to a €6M salary plus €2M add-ons a while back. The Bianconeri will pay €12/15M in accessory costs, nabbing him on a Bosman move after his run with Lille. He totaled 109 goals in 232 matches in France.

Juventus accelerated to seal the deal with David also because Saudi side Al-Qadsiah barged into the race with a lucrative offer. The camp of the Canadian marksman had initially asked for €20M.

Per Sky, the Old Lady started chasing after the former Lille star back in May, but their regime change reset the negotiation at some point. Their front office doesn’t plan to stop at one striker. They recently rekindled the dialogue with the agents of Victor Osimhen. They’ll try to come to terms with them before opening talks with Napoli. Mateo Retegui would be next on their agenda if they weren’t successful.

Our Take on Juventus Signing David

The road was torturous, but they were always the most logical landing spot since they have a glaring need at the position and because they have never been shy in remunerating representatives and whatnot. He’s still a bargain if he keeps up his numbers. It’ll be surprising if they pursued other marksmen before sorting out the Dusan Vlahovic mess. They might even stop trying to keep Randal Kolo Muani if that doesn’t happen fairly soon.
