Juventus have made fresh contact with the entourage of Emiliano Martinez as they intensify their search for a new first-choice goalkeeper, with the Alisson pursuit now effectively dead following new Liverpool coach Andoni Iraola’s decision to build his project around the Brazilian.
According to Romeo Agresti of Il Bianconero, via CalcioMercato, the contacts with Martinez’s camp remain exploratory at this stage, Juventus are trying to establish the concrete feasibility of an operation before deciding whether to pursue it seriously or pivot towards alternative targets such as Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario.
Luciano Spalletti has been clear about the profile he requires: an experienced, commanding goalkeeper with genuine leadership qualities capable of organising the entire defensive unit.

The financial picture is daunting.
Martinez earns approximately €9 million net per season plus bonuses and is contracted to Aston Villa until June 2029, with the English club valuing the Argentina international at around €40 million.
His World Cup involvement with Argentina also means any serious negotiations are likely to be delayed until after the tournament concludes.
Juventus are fully aware this will not be a straightforward operation, but with Michele Di Gregorio having endured a difficult season, the need for a genuine upgrade in goal remains one of their most pressing summer priorities.
