With the transfer market in full swing and managerial changes echoing through Italy’s elite clubs, Juventus enter the new Serie A season facing a complex web of challenges and opportunities. According to Tutto Juve and Bianconera News, the Bianconeri remain very much in the Scudetto conversation, though competition will be fierce and internal questions still linger.
Ivan Zamorano, speaking to Radio Sportiva, places Juventus alongside Inter and a Napoli now sharpened by Antonio Conte’s discipline in the early debate over title contenders. Yet, while Napoli are recalibrating under their new manager, and Inter look to maintain momentum, Juventus’ ability to mount a sustained title push appears closely tied to how they navigate key off-field decisions in the coming weeks.
The ongoing situation with Dusan Vlahovic exemplifies these strategic dilemmas. Former Juventus director Franco Ceravolo described the Vlahovic case as “delicate” but foresees a resolution in the near term. Juventus cannot afford to risk losing Vlahovic on a free transfer down the line, nor can the club justify having a major salary on the books if he is not central to sporting plans. A compromise is expected soon, a development crucial for both squad stability and financial balance.
The transfer market dynamic also reflects broader concerns over sustainable spending and the rapid escalation of fees for young talents with limited Serie A experience. As FIFA agent Claudio Anellucci noted on 1 Station Radio, the pursuit of Parma’s Giovanni Leoni by Juventus, Inter, and Milan—at a rumored €30 million—highlights an emerging pattern of inflated investments in potential over proven performance. Anellucci sees these market trends as risky, arguing that clubs must take a measured approach with youth reinforcements if they are to avoid costly mistakes.
Juventus are not immune to these pressures. The club has been linked with several high-profile signings in attack, including ongoing efforts to reach an agreement with Porto for Francisco Conceição, viewed by Ceravolo as a player with the qualities to make a difference in Turin. There is also continued debate over balancing experience with the need to integrate Italian youth, a topic that remains a point of frustration for some observers against a backdrop of relentless foreign recruitment across Serie A.
As the summer unfolds, Juventus’ chances in the Scudetto race may ultimately hinge less on the strengths and weaknesses of their immediate rivals and more on the clarity and conviction with which they manage internal transitions—both in the dressing room and in the boardroom.
