Saturday’s Derby d’Italia between Juventus and Inter Milan will be just the second time Igor Tudor and Cristian Chivu have faced off as coaches but the Romanian had the better record as a player.

Chivu led his Parma side to an impressive 1-0 victory over Juventus in April and will be hoping to rely on what he learned from that game to guide Inter to a win in Turin.

A goal from Mateo Pellegrino at the end of the first half was enough to give Chivu’s Parma a vital three points that would prove pivotal to their survival.

Therefore, the Romanian coach will be looking to keep up his 100% record against Tudor on Saturday night.

The duo have only met once so far as coaches.

However, they had played against each other four times during their playing careers, as recalled by FcInterNews.

The first tie between the two ended in a draw, when Roma drew 2-2 at Juventus in the 2003-04 season.

In the return leg in that campaign, Chivu’s Roma smashed the Bianconeri 4-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

The following season, Tudor was on loan with Siena.

The Croatian was a part of an impressive 2-0 win for his side away at Roma.

The fourth meeting between the two came in 2005-06, with Tudor still at Siena.

Chivu came out on top in that meeting, with Roma winning 2-0.
