Juventus face Pisa in Serie A on Saturday at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, in a clash that matters at both ends of the table.

Luciano Spalletti’s side is pushing for a European place, while newly promoted Pisa makes the trip needing points to escape the relegation zone.

Juventus come into this game on a poor run in the league, having gone four matches without a victory, with two losses followed by back-to-back draws. That sequence has kept them in the European mix but also increased the pressure from their fanbase.

Their 3-3 draw away to Roma was a mixed bag: they showed spirit to recover from a two-goal deficit, yet their defensive frailties again proved costly. After 27 games, Juventus are sixth in the standings with 47 points.

In terms of personnel, Juventus are still dealing with problems in attack. Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik remain sidelined, and full-back Emil Holm is also ruled out before this fixture.

There is some optimism, though, as both Vlahovic and Milik have returned to training and are edging closer to being ready for competitive action again.

With key forwards missing, more will be asked of Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao in the attacking areas. Yildiz, in particular, will be under the spotlight after finding the net in Juventus’ 2-0 victory away to Pisa in December’s reverse fixture.

Leading the line, one of Jonathan David or Lois Openda is expected to start as the central striker. In midfield, Manuel Locatelli should come back into the XI after serving his suspension, likely replacing Teun Koopmeiners.
