Kaka picks Kylian Mbappé over Lamine Yamal at Kings World Cup Nations launch | OneFootball

Kaka has nailed his colours to Kylian Mbappé, saying he would pick the France captain ahead of Lamine Yamal or Ousmane Dembélé. Speaking to L'Équipe via videolink at the Kings World Cup Nations presentation, the 2007 Ballon d'Or, who will lead Brazil's team, made his preference clear.

The second edition of the Kings World Cup Nations runs from 3 to 17 January in Sao Paulo, with 20 nations involved. France face Italy, Poland and Algeria in the first round.

"Kylian is an experienced player. I like the way he plays, his speed, the way he finishes. So I would choose Kylian," Kaka said.

The tournament, derived from Gerard Piqué's Kings League, blends seven-a-side football with entertainment and interactive digital features. The project has expanded since the competition launched in France in the spring.

Ronaldo, who will preside over this year's event, sat alongside Kaka during the launch. He smiled at the answer but, mindful of his role, declined to respond to the same question.
