Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema has this week forwarded some personal advice the way of the club’s current crop of attacking talent.
The advice in question? To ‘talk’ more frequently on the pitch.
Frontman Benzema for his part sat down for an interview with Diario AS this week, during which the Frenchman was drawn on a whole host of topics regarding his former employers.
One such question saw the Ballon d’Or winner asked:
”What is Real Madrid lacking today?”
And Benzema went on to provide a fascinating response, in calling for the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Jr. and Rodrygo to improve their on-pitch communication:
”There will be games where Mbappé won’t touch the ball. What we expect from Kylian is that when he gets the chance, he’ll put it away. That’s how Real Madrid is. He’s much better; scoring goals isn’t new to him. He did it at PSG, and at Real Madrid he’s going to score many more. I think Vinicius, Mbappé, Rodrygo (even though he doesn’t play much), Bellingham… they need to talk. One is there to score goals, another to provide assists. We’re not going to tell Bellingham to score goals because that’s Mbappé’s job; nor are we going to tell him to be the number 10 because that’s Bellingham’s role. They need to talk.”
