Celtic today confirmed the signing of Danish International striker Kasper Høgh who has signed a four-year contract with the club with Celtic having a further one year option…

Kasper Hogh is the second confirmed signing in the summer window following Camilo Duran who is also a goalscorer with plenty of Champions League experience and goal scoring success too. Hopefully Kasper is quickly followed by a number of other signings with Martin O’Neill eyeing a left-back, centre-defender, midfielder and perhaps two wingers.

Earlier today Celtic had a bid for Benjamin Arthur thrown out with Brentford seeing the centre-half who was on loan at Celtic last season, as part of their long-term plans. Celtic Shorts reported on this potential signing a few weeks back, see the link below.

After this initial post on social media teasing the support about the further news Celtic posted the confirmation that Kasper Hogh is now a Celtic player!

The club’s post on x stated:

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Danish internationalist, Kasper Høgh, who has joined the club on a four-year deal, with the option of a further year, subject to international clearance. Welcome to Celtic, Kasper”

Celtic Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Danish internationalist, Kasper Høgh, who has joined the club on a four-year deal, with the option of a further year, subject to international clearance.

The Danish forward joins the Scottish champions in a club record transfer following an impressive spell with Bodø/Glimt in Norway, where he made his mark both domestically and in European competition.

The 25-year-old, who will wear the number nine jersey for Celtic, joins Martin O’Neill’s squad ahead of the start of the new league campaign and the upcoming UEFA Champions League qualifier.

Speaking in his first interview after signing for the Hoops, Kasper Høgh said: “I’m so happy. When I came into the room and saw the shirt, I was really excited.

“The history of the club is so big. I spoke with some people and with my family about the club.

“The feeling they had, and the feeling I had in my stomach, was that this was a really good match.”

Describing what Celtic supporters can expect from him, the striker said: “I like to be in the box and score goals, but I also want to help my team-mates defensively and work hard for the team.

“I’ve trained throughout the summer and I’ve already played league games in Norway, so I feel ready. I just want to get started and be thrown into the fire.”
