Kasper Hogh’s £11 million transfer to Celtic has delivered a major financial boost to the Danish club where his football journey began…

The Denmark international completed his move to the Scottish champions from Bodo/Glimt, becoming one of Celtic’s most expensive ever signings.

Under football’s solidarity payment system, several of the striker’s former clubs are entitled to a share of the fee in recognition of their role in his development.

That includes Danish fifth-tier outfit Vorup FB, where Hogh spent nine years as a youngster before continuing his career with hometown side Randers.

Vorup are now set to collect around £57,000 from the transfer, with the club planning to reinvest the money into its youth and grassroots setup.

Manager Thomas Pedersen said via The Herald: “The money we will receive as a solidarity payment from Kasper’s transfer means a great deal to this club.

“It has been decided that the money will go to developing the players through activities or equipment, so it really means a lot to us. It won’t be used to buy players or anything – just to strengthen grassroots football.

“Our focus is that if our players are happy on and off the pitch, it suits them. That was certainly the case for Kasper Hogh when he was at this club.”
