Kauã Prates has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund in 2026. The Cruzeiro defender is 17.

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica’s approach amounted only to interest, with the Brazilian’s next step already mapped out for next season. He will move to Germany in the summer and remain with Cruzeiro until June 2026 as he is still a minor.

He has completed routine medical tests with the Bundesliga club. He will continue his development in familiar surroundings before the switch.

Dortmund have secured the defender ahead of competition from several clubs, including Benfica. He will link up with the German side for the 2026/27 campaign.

Valued at six million euros, Kauã Prates played 20 matches for Cruzeiro in 2025, eight in Série A, seven in the Copinha, three in the Copa Sudamericana, one in the Copa do Brasil and one in the Brasileiro Sub-20. Across 1,292 minutes he scored one goal and showed notable potential.
