Moise Kean, the Italy international, faces an uncertain Fiorentina future after a flat campaign that brought only eight Serie A goals, a sharp fall from the 25 he produced across all competitions last season. That surge earned him a new deal and a doubled salary, but the mood has shifted.
Corriere dello Sport reports that the entire forward line has struggled, with Kean, Albert Gudmundsson and Roberto Piccoli managing 18 league goals between them. Incoming sporting director Fabio Paratici is weighing tough calls, with Kean’s case the most complex.
The striker has a €62 million release clause, increased by 20% on the back of last season, and it is valid until 15 July.
It was not triggered in the summer of 2025, when only a couple of Saudi clubs enquired and Kean declined. Matching it this summer is seen as unlikely, though Tottenham Hotspur and Milan have been linked and any approach could shape Fiorentina’s stance.
Considerations include a persistent tibia issue that affected him throughout the season, a strained working relationship, and the reality that a high-earning striker tied down until 2029 cannot be kept on promise alone.
The outcome will hinge on a suitable offer and the player’s wishes.
Piccoli is expected to stay and get another chance, while Gudmundsson’s future depends on whether a club meets Fiorentina’s valuation.
