Moise Kean was carried off on a stretcher midway through the second half of the Serie A match between Hellas Verona and Fiorentina on Sunday afternoon after appearing to faint following a big blow to his face a few minutes earlier.
There was a collision of three players midway through the second half of the Verona-Fiorentina clash: Kean, Pawel Dawidowicz and Diego Coppola.
Kean hit the deck on the touchline with a big gash just above his eye. Play stopped while he received treatment from the Fiorentina medical staff.
Medics were able to patch the Italy international back up, and he reappeared a few minutes later with a black bandage wrapped around his head.
However, just after he was reintroduced, Kean hit the deck again and was not moving for a few worrying moments. Players from both sides immediately signalled for a stretcher or ambulance to come onto the pitch.
The stretcher was called for, and the 27-year-old was carried off for further treatment while wearing a neck brace. He was replaced by Nicolo Fagioli in the 67th minute.
A statement from Fiorentina later confirmed Kean was diagnosed with head trauma and has been taken to a local hospital for tests.

The whole ordeal was overseen by Edoardo Bove, who was in the stands. The Viola midfielder had been rushed to hospital in an ambulance after collapsing on the pitch during a Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter at the beginning of December, and later spent 12 days in hospital before being discharged with an internal defibrillator fitted.
