Kelwin, Flu’s Copinha top scorer, set for possible third appearance

The striker Kelwin has been attracting attention as a promising talent from Fluminense's youth categories. The player was the top scorer for the Tricolor in the last two editions of the Copinha and is living the dream of winning the tournament title.

My main goal is to leave there as a champion. I know it's an important title that would mean a lot, both for the club and for us who are playing there. There are several big teams, everyone wants the same thing, and it won't be easy. But I want to surpass my record. In the last Copinha, I scored four goals. I will do my best to score more and, who knows, maybe even double it again” – stated the top scorer.

Besides the goals on the field, Kelwin is expected to be on the list of athletes who can compete in the tournament for the third time. The forward also spoke about the team's evolution since 2024 and highlighted that the group is working to achieve better performance.

We learned so much in 2024, which helped us perform well in the 2025 Copinha. The group was very united. We lost on penalties to the champion São Paulo in the round of 16 by a small margin. I have complete confidence in the team, the coaching staff, and everyone who helps us. I know we are working on the smallest details to fix what was missing, reach the final, and bring the trophy to Rio de Janeiro” – commented the player.

Focused on the championship, the Moleque de Xerém declared that he is excited about the possibility of being a reference for his teammates and that he will be available to offer help on and off the field.

There were two editions full of learning. The first time I went, I had just moved up from the Under-17. Over the years, I learned a lot from the older generations. Now that I have the opportunity to be the oldest, I hope to perhaps even serve as a role model to bring experience to those who are arriving. I know what happens daily, the mental fatigue, so I try to encourage them as much as possible, give total confidence, and help the team on and off the field with advice” – said Kelwin.

Finally, the striker expressed his happiness about renewing with the Team of Warriors and revealed that he hopes to receive other opportunities in the professional team.

I was very happy with the contract renewal and fulfilled the dream of debuting as a professional for Fluminense. In 2026, my goal is to win the Copinha as the top scorer and receive other opportunities in the professional squad” – said the top scorer.
