Ken Bates, former Leeds United and Chelsea owner, has died aged 94.
Chelsea said in a statement that he passed away peacefully in Monaco on Saturday morning, surrounded by his wife and family, and offered condolences to his wife Suzannah, relatives and friends.

News of his death emerged later on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea are mourning their former chairman and highlighted his resolve in difficult periods and his role in driving the team to trophies.
