Kevin Phillips has urged Wrexham to meet Sunderland’s valuation for goalkeeper Anthony Patterson this summer.
According to Sunderland Echo, the former Sunderland striker thinks a bidder will pay what the club want and warns that hesitation could let a rival move first.
Patterson was key to promotion to the Premier League last year, but Robin Roefs became Regis Le Bris’s first choice in pre-season, prompting a January loan to Millwall.
A permanent exit has been discussed, with Millwall, Wolves and Wrexham linked. Sunderland are understood to want around £eight million to £10 million.
Phillips argues the figure is not excessive for a Championship-tested goalkeeper and suggests Wrexham should act early rather than risk missing out.
