Benfica are reshaping for 2026/27 and academy right-back Kevin Pinto, 19, is expected to move on after failing to convince new coach Marco Silva.

According to Glorioso 1904, the defender was called up to the first team last season, but he is not in Silva’s plans and is already seeking a club away from the Luz.

Pinto did not report for pre-season at Benfica Campus, having been granted permission to resolve his future. He holds English nationality and his next step is likely to be abroad, with interest from overseas.

He does not intend to stay with the B team, which had been lined up for 2026/27. With no prospect of joining the senior squad, a departure has emerged as the most practical option for all parties.

Pinto has one year left on his Benfica contract, but the relationship is expected to end during this summer window as the club trim players who lack a pathway under Silva. The full-back will look to relaunch his career in a new league.
