Nico Paz’s future is approaching a decisive moment, but a return to Real Madrid no longer appears to be the most likely outcome this summer.
Although the Spanish giants have already exercised their buyback option to regain control of the midfielder, the player himself believes this is not the right time to return to the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Nico Paz’s stance is based purely on sporting reasons.
The Argentine midfielder is concerned about the fierce competition for places at Real Madrid and would rather continue his development elsewhere before considering a move back to the club in the future.
Real Madrid recently activated the €9 million buyback clause included in the Argentine’s agreement with Como, giving the club control over the player’s immediate future.

However, Los Blancos presented Como with an opportunity to re-sign the Argentine for around €60 million, an option that remains available only until Monday.
As for the player, the Italian journalist confirms that he does not want to return to Real Madrid this season because he believes opportunities would be difficult to come by.
Importantly, the decision is not a rejection of Real Madrid itself. Instead, the midfielder feels another year of regular football would be more beneficial before competing for a place in one of Europe’s strongest squads.
Both the player and Como are understood to be interested in extending their partnership after a successful campaign in Serie A, although meeting Real Madrid’s current valuation represents a significant challenge for the Italian club.
If Como decide against paying the €60 million requested by Real Madrid, the Spanish club are prepared to explore other options.

The current plan would be to negotiate a permanent transfer with another club willing to exceed the valuation already presented to Como, allowing Real Madrid to maximise the financial return from the midfielder.
Furthermore, another important topic in the ongoing negotiations is the possibility of inserting a fresh buyback clause into any new agreement with Como.
Such a move would allow Real Madrid to retain long-term control over Nico Paz’s future while giving the player another season of regular first-team football.
With Monday’s deadline approaching rapidly, discussions between the two clubs are expected to intensify as they work through the financial details of a potential agreement.
