The Bayern duo, along with FCB mascot Berni, handed out several gifts, answered questions from the children and fulfillfed photo and autograph requests. For over two hours, Kimmich and Gnabry provided some welcome distraction for the youngsters and their families. “It’s always special when you can give children some joy,” said Gnabry. “You get the feeling they were all really happy about it, especially the things we brought and the chance for everyone to get a photo,” added Kimmich.
Afterwards, the two FCB players and Berni attended the awards ceremony for a charity run organised by the children's hospital, in which nearly 200 children and runners participated. “It's wonderful to see that the children have the awareness to want to run a lot to raise money for charity. It's a fantastic initiative and overall it was a very nice day,” said Kimmich.
