It’s been a great few weeks for Jorrel Hato. Since Marc Cucurella got injured in mid-February, the young Dutchman has had a run of games and has got better and better.

That culminated against Wrexham on Saturday evening, where he looked really good. One nutmeg pass he played in particular summed up his evening. Both physically and technically he’s looking more confident an dis trusting his ability more. Played further forward as a wing back in the FA Cup game, he showed some impressive new parts of his game.

On the London is Blue podcast they were full of praise for the former Ajax man.

Hato more confident as Chelsea finally have a competent Cucurella backup

“The nutmeg pass, it was just *kissing noise*, it was a beauty. It was mentioned before, every time Marc Cucurella got injured it was like ‘what are we gonna do here?’, we’re going to have to use someone who’s not a left back at left back,” pundit Jessica Frota said.

“This is the kind of depth that we need, and I think he’s growing in confidence too.”

In other news…

Hato might be needed for another important game this week – it all depends on what the physios say about Marc Cucurella.

Former Man U striker Andy Cole is a huge fan of Liam Rosenior and is really happy to see him do so well – but he has some advice for him too.
