Kobbie Mainoo set to sign new Man Utd contract | OneFootball

Kobbie Mainoo is set to commit to Manchester United and sign a new contract according to reports.

Multiple outlets are reporting that the midfielder has agreed to fresh terms with the club. Journalist Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic specifying that the deal will run until the end of the 2030/31 season and enjoy an improved salary in line with some of his senior teammates.

Mainoo came through the academy at United with Erik ten Hag handing the youngster his debut in the League Cup against Charlton Athletic back in January 2023.

However, Mainoo struggled for game time under Ten Hag's successor, Ruben Amorim, and was pushing for a loan move away until the appointment of interim boss Michael Carrick saw the 21-year-old restored to a regular place in the starting line up.

This season, Mainoo has played 26 games for United in all competitions making three assists.
