Köln in talks to sign Manchester City’s defender on loan | OneFootball

1. FC Köln’s search for a center-back could see them land a surprise move. Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, who is currently on loan at Celtic, is on the radar of the newly-promoted Bundesliga club. The 20-year-old has only played once in the difficult spell for the Scottish giants.

The Köln-based website ‘Express’ reported on Thursday that the carnival club had already agreed terms with a new defender. A few hours later, ‘The Telegraph’ linked Simpson-Pusey with a January move to Lukas Kwasniok’s side.

Manchester City want to end the player’s Celtic loan due to the lack of playing time, despite the Scottish Premiership club changing coaches twice in the first half of the season. Köln will face competition with BlueCo-owned RC Strasbourg for the signing of the England U20 international.

Simpson-Pusey played six times for Manchester City last season. He was the captain of Manchester City’s youth team that won the FA Youth Cup in the 2023-24 season.
