Jahmai Simpson-Pusey was left out of Köln’s final home match of the season against Heidenheim for disciplinary reasons.

Interim coach René Wagner selected Joel Schmied instead, and Köln lost 3-1 to the relegation-threatened visitors.

Wagner said the squad had focused all week on standards and how they treat each other, that lateness required a consistent response, and that Simpson-Pusey had made a mistake he hopes not to repeat after a good conversation.

His remarks hinted the defender could be involved against Bayern next week.

Simpson-Pusey, 20, has made 10 appearances since joining on loan from Manchester City in January. Manchester City ended his previous loan at Celtic to enable the move. He captained City sides that won the FA Youth Cup and the U21 Premier League.
