Vincent Kompany will wait for a medical meeting before finalising Bayern Munich's starting XI for Saturday's Bundesliga top-of-the-table clash with Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park.

According to BuLi News, the Bayern coach outlined the fitness picture and selection timeline.

Manuel Neuer is racing to be fit after a muscle issue, with Kompany describing the outlook as positive and noting they had initially expected a longer absence. He said the goalkeeper might train today and that any decision would be taken up to the game, adding that Jonas Urbig would step in again if Neuer is not ready.

Konrad Laimer has trained all week and should be ready to start. Alphonso Davies will miss out, although his problem is not as serious as first feared, and he is running with a view to returning in March, subject to assessment next week.

Bayern managed training loads for Aleksandar Pavlovic and Michael Olise amid reports of minor knocks, while Hiroki Ito and Kim Min-jae were said to have cut Thursday's session short. Kompany said the squad looks good overall, that not everyone is likely to start, and that he can still select a very strong XI.
