Barcelona will lock horns with Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano this Tuesday night as they look to secure a good result on the road in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal clash. The Catalan club managed to earn a dominant 4-1 win over Espanyol recently, which should give them some confidence going into this game as they look to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit.

Hansi Flick will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team for this clash. Jules Kounde, Joao Cancelo and Frenkie de Jong could all play from the start of this game.

Defence

Joan Garcia will operate in between the sticks for the Catalan club after conceding one goal in his last outing. Ronald Araujo will resume his partnership with Eric Garcia at the heart of Hansi Flick’s defence as they look to keep the home team frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.

Jules Kounde will try to prove his value as the right-back, while Joao Cancelo looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will be given the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Gerard Martin will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Pedri and Frenkie de Jong will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Marcus Rashford, Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal will function just ahead of them as part of the Barcelona attack. All three of them need to combine well if Barcelona are to secure a convincing win at the Wanda Metropolitano in midweek.

Marc Casado and Dani Olmo will have to be content with a place on the bench as they await their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Ferran Torres will lead the charge for the Catalan club up top. He has to find a way to be a constant menace in the final third.

Robert Lewandowski will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if needed.
