Kylian Mbappé has had a challenging start to his time at Real Madrid after joining the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. However, the Frenchman’s time in the Spanish capital could be going from bad to worse.

The 25-year-old had a challenging El Clásico debut, with Real Madrid falling 4-0 to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 26. A few days later, their struggles continued with a 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.

On Wednesday, Mbappé had the opportunity to have a standout performance against Liverpool, especially with Vinicius Junior not playing and the former PSG star occupying the role he’s more comfortable in. However, it was a disastrous performance from the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

Amid the struggles, journalist Miquel Blázquez has already compared the 25-year-old to Eden Hazard, who struggled at Real Madrid after moving to the LaLiga side from Chelsea.

“We can’t forget that there were people who compared Mbappé to Leo Messi. At 25 years old, the Argentine had already won 4 Ballon d’Ors while shining with Barça. Mbappé is not even better than Eden Hazard and that is extremely annoying.”

At some point, the adaptation argument will need to go away, and there will be questions about whether this dream transfer for Mbappé will turn into a nightmare.
